During his recent five-year stint as an education and outreach specialist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Greg trained forty marine protected area managers from the Galapagos in Ecuador, and parks in Colombia, Panama, and Costa Rica on sustainable tourism.  He is a skilled Spanish speaker and spent a year living in the Peruvian Amazon working as an environmental educator. Greg has been a naturalist in a dozen parks, including: Mount Rainier, Everglades, Glacier Bay, Grand Canyon, Hawaii Volcanoes, Olympic, Point Reyes National Seashore and Denali National Park and Preserve, among others. McCormack has served as expedition leader, cruise director, lecturer & Divemaster onboard adventure-travel ships, guiding people to the most pristine, remote regions of the world such as the Russian Far East, New Guinea, Micronesia, Melanesia and Polynesia in the South Pacific, The Falkland Islands, South Georgia, & Antarctica. The reason for his peregrinations is to experience the last of the world's intact ecosystems before more environmental degradation occurs. His favorite region is Alaska, where he has worked ten summers.  An avid birder, scuba diver, kayaker and trail runner, he is inspired by the words of Henry David Thoreau:  “In Wildness Is the Preservation of the World.” Greg has made the Olympic Peninsula in Western Washington his home since 1991.Spread the Adventure!
